West Ridge Mall

The leading mall in Topeka, West Ridge Mall is only minutes away for Brookfield Village residents. West Ridge Mall is the one of the largest enclosed malls in all of Kansas. The mall contains anchor stores Dillard’s, JCPenney, and Furniture Mall of Kansas. 

They have a wide variety of establishments such as Bath & Body Works, Champs Sports, Game Zone, and Victoria’s Secret. While you are shopping, you can grab some food too! The mall contains several restaurants and a food court including Casa Martinez Grill, Subway, Smoothie & Pretzel Co. and several others. 

West Ridge Mall provides accessibility for shoppers needing assistance. Handicap parking and accessible entrances are located at each entrance. The mall is located at 21st Street and Wanamaker. Brookfield Village Apartments is only one mile from West Ridge Mall. 

Old Prairie Town at Ward-Meade Historic Site and Botanical Garden

Visit Old Prairie Town and step into the past! The historic site contains a variety of 1800s buildings including the Ward-Meade mansion. Pioneer Anthony Ward and his family built the mansion in 1874. The Ward-Meade mansion is on the National Register of Historic Places. 

Old Prairie Town at Ward-Meade Historic Site and Botanical Garden has plenty of places to visit. Stop by Potwin Drugstore which serves ice cream and has a working soda fountain. The Santa Fe Train Depot was moved to Old Prairie Town from Pauline and now provides guests with an up-close look at vintage railroad travel. 

Old Prairie Town has many seasonal events such as Tulip Time in April and their Apple Festival in October. 

Evel Knievel Museum

Topeka is home to the Evel Knievel Thrill Show and Museum. It is the world’s largest collection of Evel Knievel memorabilia including his jump bikes, leather jumpsuits, and helmets. Learn more about the legend of Evel Knievel! The daredevil entertainer is considered the godfather of Extreme Sports. 

The museum has exhibits about the physics of Knievel’s death-defying jumps, the broken bones he suffered, and a virtual reality jump. The collection contains Knievel’s 1970 XR750 Ironhead Harley Davidson and his “Big Red” 1974 Mack Truck and Trailer.
