Brookwood Shopping Center
Brookwood Shopping Center is family-owned shopping center which has been in business since 1959. The shopping center has many goods and services including Dillons Food Store. They also have Brookwood Retail Liquor, Shear Heaven Salon, Stillpoint Massage & Bodywork Studio, Ryan’s Pub, Tequila’s Mexican Restaurant & Bar, and Wheatland Antique Mall.
The shopping center is walking distance from Misty Glen. Each Christmas, a 15-foot Santa statue is installed on the roof in what has become a community tradition. Brookwood Shopping Center is a wonderful place to make a quick trip or spend some time!
Stormont Vail Events Center
The Stormont Vail Events Center is the biggest event venue in Topeka. The events center (formerly Kansas Expocentre) holds a variety of events such as concerts, trade shows, consumer shows, and dog shows. Notable artists that have performed at the center are Carrie Underwood, Avenged Sevenfold, Papa Roach, Rob Zombie, Eric Church, and Kansas.
They have hosted everything from Disney on Ice to WWE SmackDown. The center will be the home of an expansion team for Champions Indoor Football. You will always be able to find first-rate entertainment at the Stormont Vail Events Center.
Heartland Motorsports Park
Heartland Motorsports Park is the incredible motorsports racetrack in Topeka. The motorsports park includes a drag strip, road course, autocross/drift pad, and motocross. It was renovated in 2003, and the motorsports facility is regularly used by the National Hot Rod Association.
The “House of Speed” hosted the SCCA National Championship Runoffs from 2006–2008. Visit their website for a schedule of events and ticket prices. The crowd and energy at Heartland Motorsports Park are amazing!
